Yukio Yamada Sensei 5th Dan

Yukio (Glen) Yamada started kendo in 1975 with the Tokabudokan Dojo in Toronto with Sensei L. Nakamura, M. Tagawa and S. Kimura. Yukio Yamada became a student of S. Kimura when Kimura Sensei started his Takubukan Dojo in the late seventies. The Takubukan Dojo later became the Toronto Kendo Club. The TKC celebrated its 30th Anniversary in July 30, 2011. Yamada, Kimura and Richard Tizzard Sensei founded the Mississauga Kendo Club in 1996. Yamada received 5th dan in 2006. He is still an instructor at the Mississauga Dojo and the Head Instructor at the Hamilton Kendo Dojo.

Michael Attard 4th Dan

Michael Attard is our Club President, and Assistant Instructor for the Adult Kendo Class.  Michael has trained with many of Canada's top instructors at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Center in Toronto, including Roy Asa-Sensei, Morito Tsumura-Sensei, and Kiyoshi Hao Sensei.

David Seto 4th Dan

David is the lead instructor for the Kids Kendo Class at Hamilton Kendo Club and Kendo Dad. David began his Kendo studies with Taro Ariga-Sensei at the University of Waterloo, and the founding of the University of Waterloo Kendo Club.  He is now one of Hamilton Kendo Club's most senior members, coaching to our less experienced members, as well as teaching Kendo in both the Kids Class, and Adult Classes.

Cammy Wu 3rd Dan

Cammy is the Assistant Instructor of the Kids Kendo Class, and a Kendo Mom.  Cammy has over 20 years Kendo experience with Mississauga Kendo Club (S. Kimura Sensei), Western University Kendo Club (David Mori Sensei), and helped to bring Kendo back to Hamilton, with Yukio Yamada Sensei.
